Using Black electrical tape I created a straight dimension line along a wall and labelled it as a light-year. This piece works with the idea that if someone were to say to you that Earth is 1000 light years away from our next closest galaxy, how would you perceive that distance? Comparisons and dimensions are only useful if the viewer or reader can fathom that kind of scale. I propose that the distance along any given wall can be as long as a light-year and so this piece can be installed anywhere.
